Even though ANO won this year’s parliamentary elections overwhelmingly and with a large lead, it did not break the Czech electoral record. That record is held by Mirek Topolánek, whose ODS won 35 percent in 2006. How does Babiš’s current position differ from Topolánek’s back then? Two weeks after the parliamentary elections, the victorious ANO movement continues its efforts to negotiate a coalition with SPD and the Motorists. ANO leader and likely future prime minister Andrej Babiš announced on Wednesday that the negotiation teams will now focus on the program and coalition agreement. They will return to personnel matters in a few weeks.
