Tractor driver tore down a high voltage pole, 3000 people in the village of Chrast in the Chrudim region were left without electricity

A tractor driver tore down a high-voltage pole, leaving a town of 3,000 without power

Around a thousand households in Chrast in the Chrudim region were without power this morning due to a curious accident in a field where a tractor driver with harnessed agricultural equipment tore down a power line pole. The driver remained seated in the tractor until the arrival of firefighters and power engineers for fear of electrocution. About 1,000 power points were without power due to the accident of the tractor which knocked down a concrete power line pole with a compact truck. The incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. during spring soil loosening. An employee of the agricultural cooperative managed to tear down a concrete column of a 35kV high-voltage line with a so-called combiner connected behind a tractor.
