New head of the antitrust authority Mlsna was chosen in a secret farce
The government has announced a candidate for the new chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition – and it’s not good news. The new chairman of the Office for the Protection of Competition is to be the current Deputy Minister of the Interior, Petr Mlsna. The government approved Petr Mlsna as the future head of the highly influential Office for the Protection of Competition (OPC) at a meeting on Monday. If he is approved for the post by President Miloš Zeman, Mlsna (42) will take office on 2 December. And there is no doubt that the president will approve him for the post – after all, he spoke of him as a good candidate even before the government announced the selection procedure for the post of the head of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
