€26 million in cash withdrawn from credit union, ČNB audit finds
The Czech National Bank filed a petition with the court to dissolve Podnikatelská družiteľní záložní záložní, liquidate it and appoint a liquidator. Clients withdrew EUR 26 million in cash from the credit union, in which Prime Minister Petr Fiala was a shareholder. Suspicious cash transactions are one of the reasons why the Czech National Bank (CNB) revoked the credit union’s licence on 11 September last year. This decision was not publicly known because it only came into force today.
