Did Babiš purposefully take advantage of his opponent’s medical indisposition? It is possible, Pavel was very defensive, says political scientist
According to political scientist Josef Mlejnek of Charles University, the performance of presidential candidate Petr Pavel in Sunday’s debate on Czech Television was marred by health indisposition. He believes that information about his illness may have prompted former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO) to make a surprise appearance. Karel Kreml, chairman of the Political Communication Club, said that Russian propaganda must be happy about Babiš’s performance. He was reacting to the head of the ANO movement’s statement that he would not send Czech troops to these countries to help in the event of an attack on Poland or the Baltic states. Babiš later corrected the statement.
