ČEZ was fined CZK 17.5 million in Bulgaria. It was allegedly abusing its dominance
The Bulgarian Antimonopoly Authority has fined the local division of the Czech electricity company CEZ 1.25 million leva (17.5 million crowns) for abuse of its dominant market position. The company intends to defend itself against the fine in court. CEZ said it had delayed signing an agreement on the purchase of equipment needed to connect the Bulgarian investor to the grid. A CEZ spokeswoman said the company has not yet received the authority’s decision. However, she added that CEZ is not violating Bulgarian law and will appeal to the court.
