Five years after the police intervention in the Roma settlement in Moldava nad Bodvou, no criminal liability has been assigned to the officers involved. Instead, the beaten Roma have become the perpetrators
Five years ago, a police action took place in Moldava nad Bodvou, from which no criminal liability has yet been established. On Tuesday, June 19, it was five years since a police raid on a settlement on Budulovská Street in the Slovak town of Moldava nad Bodvou. The investigation into the raid was not consistent and independent, and to this day no criminal liability has been brought against the police officers who planned and participated in the raid. On the contrary, the beaten Roma have become perpetrators. The investigator has charged six of them and even convicted two of them for perjury, without them ever speaking in front of a judge. Miroslav Strelec provides further details.
