Bread and butter made the Slovaks crazy. Politicians made it a hoax and shared the meme as fact
The hoax was started by a member of parliament who has decades of experience in the media environment. MP Karol Farkasovsky, Anna Belousovova and other public figures and media were caught by a meme created by the EMEFKA workshop. The meme with the greasy bread, which pokes fun at the inflated prices in the snack stalls, was evaluated by many as a real shot from the Bratislava Christmas markets. The post, taken out of context, has been shared hundreds of times by Slovaks. For a greasy bread with onions, which is rechristened “homemade spelt bread with vegan butter and organic onions”, someone there is asking €8.90! Farkasovsky is outraged and considers such “gluttony” as “crap”.

Largos for 250 crowns. Visitors to Budapest markets are terrified by horror prices
Langos with cheese and cream for 3,900 forints (250 crowns) and goulash for 4,500 forints (290 crowns). These are the prices at Hungary’s biggest Christmas market in Budapest’s Vörösmarty Square, off the famous Váci Street. Visitors have described this year’s prices as literally horrendous.
