Czech Troubles 1989-2024
Lex Schwarzenberg is far from the only example of the Czech state systematically depriving its own citizens of their property with the long-term assistance of the domestic judiciary. The attempt to ‘save the state’s money’ is either a manifestation of the servility of the judiciary to the executive or an apparently unconscious sign of the phenomenon we call ‘judicialocracy’. This tendency is all the more dangerous because the judiciary is the most powerful and important power of the state.
