It had a separate computer network, especially a data server, which was located on the seventh floor of the main BIS building in Prague’s Stodůlky district. Forty to fifty per cent of the team’s workload consisted of intercepting telephone conversations of leading state officials, important state administration figures and businessmen. The second part of the work, twenty to thirty percent, consisted of information from other BIS operational departments, to which the team has unlimited access. The third and most problematic part is the team’s intelligence officers’ work in the environment. The control mechanisms are minimal and therefore some failures occur when these officers conduct private business, as described by a former intelligence officer back in 2012.
