The STAN case confirmed the traditions of the baksheesh in domestic politics
The parties cannot resist offers based on aesthetic methods. All the strands of the Michal Redl & Petr Hlubuček case came together with the indictment of twelve people, the police ended up doing most of the operative work, wiretapping, surveillance and evaluating who – as the indictment says – organized the criminal group, who was just along for the ride, and who had contacts with people in the group but is not suspected of being involved in its criminal activities. Five people ended up in jail and detectives began their routine work. Interviewing the accused, witnesses, evaluating documents or computers seized during searches.
