The malfunctioning anti‑tank grenades put soldiers at risk. The state wants to recover 40 million
The defective anti-tank grenades directly endangered soldiers’ lives. Since last June, the Ministry of Defense has been suing for nearly 40 million CZK over the highly faulty grenades. The money is being demanded from the arms manufacturer Zeveta Ammunition, which supplied the weapon. Problems with the grenades had already emerged in 2010 during shooting exercises as part of a mission in Afghanistan, where 12 out of 40 grenades failed. “The issue involved the reloading of 3,000 RPG-75 grenades into 68 mm RTG grenades with thermobaric explosives,” explained Ministry of Defense spokesperson Jiří Caletka..
