Failure put the last pendolino out of service
Due to a malfunction, the last pendolino still in operation stopped running. On the way from Prague to Ostrava it had to stop in Krasíkov between Český Třebov and Zábřeh. Replacement transport was arranged by the railways for passengers in EuroCity Košičan. At the beginning of January, four previous trains had already collapsed. The broken-down pendolino had to be towed to Prague by a conventional locomotive. “Further details regarding the causes must be communicated by Alstom, whose technical staff was directly on board the train and which bears full responsibility for these faults,” said Czech Railways spokesman Aleš Ondrůj. All five pendolinos that were supposed to carry passengers were out of service.
