He stopped the programme to resettle interpreters from Afghanistan, but Milan Chovanec now says the fault lies elsewhere

Ministry should have resolved relocation of interpreters in advance, says ex-minister Chovanec

It is already clear that it will not be possible to save all of the Czech army’s collaborators in Afghanistan. Criticism is now being heaped on former Interior Minister Milan Chovanec (ČSSD), who in 2017 halted a secret programme to relocate interpreters. The reason for this was supposedly an incident at Prague’s Bulovka hospital, after which the son of an already relocated Afghan collaborator was accused of rape. The ex-minister now categorically denies this and does not understand why the programme has not been reactivated.
