Study: up to 13 funds are pulling the wool over clients’ eyes. Just copying the market and cashing in
A total of 13 mutual funds in the Czech Republic are not telling clients the full truth. A decade-long analysis by researchers from the University of Economics claims that fund managers pretend to actively select stocks, while they more or less copy the market. The authors of the study from the Higher School of Economics examined a total of 50 actively managed mutual funds over a ten-year period. They compared equity funds from the offer of large Czech banks or renowned investment companies – namely Amundi, Conseq, Česká spořitelna or ČSOB.
