A two-week-old tip for 40 cents that Google boss Sundar Pichai reads Techmeme reveals Business Insider early and for free

What do the bosses of the biggest companies do first thing in the morning? They go read a website that looks like it’s from the 1990s

The website, which is read by Google chief Sundar Pichai, is also popular with other bosses of big tech companies. The morning routine of the men who run the world’s biggest companies is sometimes surprisingly simple. Leaving aside brushing teeth or making coffee, the initial focus of the day is not on emails, Twitter feeds or big diaries, but on a single – virtually unknown to us – website that visually looks like it was stuck more than 20 years ago: prehistoric logo and fonts, tiny photos, no video, just lots of long text links.

Google’s CEO starts his morning by reading this dedicated website. Zuck and Nadella like it too.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai doesn’t start his morning reading the Wall Street Journal over a cup of coffee. Instead, he wakes up and reads a niche site that’s popular with tech executives and news lovers alike. Which website is it? Techmeme, the CEO told Wired in a recent interview. Techmeme is a website that aggregates links to the latest technology news published by Bloomberg, CNBC, The Verge and other media outlets that cover the tech industry.
