Slovaks can go right on red. The Czechs were promised this by the Minister five years ago
In America it’s common, in Europe only somewhere. Now also in Slovakia. Authorities there are introducing a new traffic sign that will allow drivers to turn right despite a red traffic light. In Germany, a metal sign with a green arrow allows drivers to turn on red. It is often said that there are too many traffic signs on the roads. Especially in the Czech Republic. However, there is still one that would make travelling much more pleasant for drivers. It is a green arrow, which would also allow a right turn on a red light. This is what is being introduced in Slovakia. This was announced by the Road Administration of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region, which also explained what it means and how drivers should behave when turning.
